Terms of Service

Docustrip is a platform that uses AI to extract structured data from invoices and similar documents you upload, so you can review, edit, export, or push that data to connected accounting systems. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with usage limits that vary by plan.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@docustrip.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service.

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) through our payment processor, Polar.sh. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for recurring fees until you cancel.

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Changes take effect as described at the time of the change; cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until then.

Each plan includes a monthly document-processing limit. If you exceed your limit, processing may pause until your quota resets or you upgrade. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or as we otherwise state at the time of purchase.

You agree not to:

• Upload documents you do not have the legal right to process
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process fraudulent or deceptive documents
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, security controls, or access restrictions
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying models or source code of the Service
• Use automated means to access the Service outside of any API we may formally provide

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you upload and the data extracted from them. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service to you (including sending it to our AI processing provider, and to any third-party integration you choose to connect).

We do not claim ownership of your data, and we do not use your uploaded documents to train our own or third-party AI models.

Data extracted from your documents is generated automatically using AI and may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying extracted data before relying on it, especially for accounting, tax, financial reporting, or compliance purposes. Docustrip is a data-entry aid, not a substitute for professional accounting or legal judgment.

The Service may let you connect third-party systems (such as Xero). Your use of those third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services you choose to connect.

We aim to keep the Service available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and the Service is provided without any specific uptime service-level commitment unless we have separately agreed to one with you in writing.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay applicable fees. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though certain provisions of these Terms (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Docustrip and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
